A. Lincoln Blog : More best and worst presidents

Here is a thought-provoking blog by an eminent Prof. of History, I am sure shall be of immense value to all my adored readers. For convenience,I have copy pasted below my comments to his blog. To go through the masterly text of the blog first, please click the Link: http://alincolnblog.blogspot.com/2006/12/more-best-and-worst-presidents.html gazebo said... Thanks a lot Mr.BRDIRCK for your true and genuine 'critical appreciation' of eminent historian Mr.Eric Foner's article in The Washington Post, "He's The Worst Ever",published on Sunday,Dec 3.For a historian of his eminence,as a specialist Civil War scholar, his speculative journalistic condemnation of a President in office having two more years to serve the people of America, only contradicts his eminence as a historian. Contextually,I am drawn to recollect a typical definition of a specialist, as 'one who knows more and more about less and less' !The patriotic spirit of America and the Americans shown after 'The Pearl Harbour' attack, still is an inspirational aid to most of the'gen-next' community of the World, that navigated a dramatic change inthe 2nd world-war. 9/11 shall also have to be a replica of 'Pearl Harbour' for the smooth navigation of a peaceful-world-order.It is not just, to put to dust, a President in office, who by the Tryst of the Providence had to be in office with US being haunted by 9/11, the Katrina and a proxy-war hit uni-polar world. That should have been taken into his views by Mr.Foner. To speculate history to be written in 2050,is a Prophetic act, that only the Providence shall define then. The coming two years may be waiting to be engraved in letters of gold in the pages of world history 44 years hence. Who knows ! Congrats Mr.BRDIRCK again ! And thanks to 'elektratig' for the worthy comment to your blog !! 10:11 AM,Dec. 05. My comments published there must be evaluated, along with that (as gazebo1) published in the Washington Post, w.r.to Mr.Foner's original article :He's The Worst...,as how, a view of today is subject to change, tomorrow, and the later view must be taken, always as more authentic than the previous one, be it even only two days after. That is Gandhiji's 'Experiment of Truth'. Link: http://www.washingtonpost.com/ac2/wp-dyn/comments/display?contentID=AR2006120101509&start=141 "Thanks Dr.Foner,US is seen, judged and commented by the world through the Presidents dignity and his actions especially on issues related to War,be it the 1st,2nd-world-war or those prior to. I truly feel,Alas,US heeded Abraham Lincolns warnings ! The Presidential right to decide on war really shall rate Mr.Bush,I fear one among the worsts. Thanks again for your recalling American history of the Honoured Presidents." By gazebo1 Dec 3, 2006 3:59:42 PM
